Thumb & Pinky Loop Replacement

Ball gloves are built from many intricate components that work together to create the comfort, structure, and control every player depends on. A key part of that feel comes from the thumb and pinky loops — located along the sides of the inner palm shell and typically tied into the outer shell for stability.

These loops are where the thumb and pinky, or multiple fingers, reside inside the glove, providing the leverage and security needed to close and control it.

Over time, loops endure constant tension — being pulled, loosened, and re-tied — and can eventually become brittle, frayed, or torn without proper conditioning or maintenance.

Our Process

Our loop replacement process begins with the careful removal of the original loop and any remaining materials, followed by the preparation and installation of a new loop, fitted to the ball glove. Most glove loops are stitched directly into the palm during manufacturing, so their removal and replacement require precision and care.

We offer over 10 loop colors to choose from, available as single replacements or pairs, allowing players to restore both function and style to their glove. New loops are installed with a new lace to secure it in place.

Loop Replacement Process

  1. Opening glove up, removing only certain laces

  2. Removal of original loop(s) and attached threading

  3. Conditioning of new loop(s)

  4. New loop(s) is installed with new laces

Available as individual service, and as bundle option with Triple Play and Full Relace services.

Result

After a thumb and/or pinky loop replacement, the ball glove regains its original stability, control, and comfort. The new loops provide a secure anchor point for the hand, improving how the glove closes and responds during play. The result is a glove that feels tighter, more balanced, and reinforced — restoring the confidence and support every player expects from their fit.
